About the Ever Afters

Who are the Ever Afters? And what's with the foxes?

Well, for one thing we're all completely foxy ladies who write fun and sexy romances with foxy heroines. Okay, I know we're being a bit overzealous with the fox thing. But they're cute. I mean have you seen a baby fox? How about baby foxes sleeping? (I knew I'd get you with that last one).

And we love happily ever after. Hence the ever after....And I'm sure you get my point.

But, in all seriousness, we're five women who cultivate the craft of romance by living vicariously through our characters and creating copious amounts of witty and sexual tension.

In layman's terms, we write romance novels.

And no, before you ask, they are NOT like Fifty Shades of Grey.

So, without further ado (or more totally lame humor), here's a little bit about each of us:

Jessica Lemmon

Jessica Lemmon has always been a dreamer. At some point, she decided head-in-the-clouds thinking was childish and went out and got herself a job. …And then she got another one because that one was lousy. And when that one stopped being fulfilling, she went out and got another …and another.

Soon it became apparent she’d only be truly happy doing what she loved. And since “eating potato chips” isn’t a viable career, she opted to become a writer. With fire in her heart, she dusted off a book she’d started years prior, finished it, and submitted it. It may have been the worst book ever, but it didn’t stop her from writing another one. Now she has several books finished, several more started, and even more marinating in her brain (which currently resides in the clouds, thankyouverymuch), and she couldn’t be happier.

She firmly believes God gifts us with talents for a purpose, and with His help, you can create the life you want.

Shannon Richard

Shannon Richard grew up in the Panhandle of Florida as the baby sister of two overly protective but loving brothers. She was raised by a more than somewhat eccentric mother, a self-proclaimed vocabularist who showed her how to get lost in a book, and a father who passed on his love for coffee and really loud music. She graduated from Florida State University with a bachelor’s in English literature and still lives in Tallahassee, where she battles everyday life with writing, reading, and a rant every once in a while. Okay, so the rants might happen on a regular basis. She’s still waiting for her Southern, scruffy Mr. Darcy, and in the meantime writes love stories to indulge her overactive imagination. Oh, and she’s a pretty big fan of the whimsy.

Erin Kern

My love of writing began many years ago while reading the likes of Rachel Gibson, Susan Elizabeth Phillips and Linda Howard.  These brilliant women, along with many others, gave me the inspiration and motivation I needed to pen my own stories.  Romance is my true calling and ultimate passion but I read many other types of stories.

Looking For Trouble is my debut novel that took lots of time, sweat, tears and smiles.  I pour every ounce of energy and love into my characters and plots in order to make them shine.I live in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area with my husband and two small children.  When I’m not sitting at my laptop I’m playing with my kids, cooking and other things that keep stay-at-home moms like me busy until we drop to our weary feet.

When I’m not sitting by my computer thinking about writing, you can usually find me….

Eating

Watching way too much reality T.V.

Eating

Reading romances aka researching ;)

Daydreaming

Did I say eating??

Okay, okay…I don’t just sit and eat and read, though I think the world would definitely be a better place if we ate more chocolate and read more books. Just saying. ;)

I grew up in a small farm town where cows outnumber people and tractors are more common than cars. I desperately wished to one day wake up and be a princess. My sister and I often played “pretend,” though she was always the princess and I the prince or evil step mother.

Maybe that’s why I write? I wanted to be the princess so desperately that I decided to write my own story. I’ve always been a dreamer and a thinker. I blame my parents for allowing Disney to pollute my mind, not that I care, considering I live and breathe all things Disney.

I went to college thinking I would change the world one child at a time via counseling…I ended up being a K-8 school counselor for around five years while getting my MBA….the whole time I kept feeling like I was not necessarily doing something I was very passionate about.

One day, after a terribly sad counseling session with a few young girls–I began typing.

I’ve been typing ever since.

In 2011 I had my first book published. I cried, jumped up and down, and called everyone I knew!

I can only say I wake up wanting to do nothing but fall to my knees in thanks to God for his many blessings.

I was told one time by a very wise person to sit and think about your childhood. About the dreams that you had, the fantasies you wanted to come to life…by digging in your past it’s often found that you can decide what your destiny is.

I was a prince, a toad, a monster, the evil step-mother, and sometimes the slave girl waiting to be rescued.

So now, I’m an author.

Sounds about right…

I love to hear from readers…and if you ever stop by Idaho, hit me up. We’ll go to Starbucks and talk about food, books, romance, and rakes. :)

Rachel Lacey

I grew up with a passion for reading and an unquenchable need to write stories of my own. As a girl, my journals and, later on, computers were always filled with snippets of stories and dialogue. These characters got inside my head and wouldn’t rest until I’d written them down. The number one item on my bucket list has always been to publish a novel, and I am beyond thrilled that my dream is coming true with Unleashed.

The first thirty years of my life led me around the globe on some amazing adventures. I’ve been climbed by a monkey on a mountain in Japan, gone scuba diving on the Great Barrier Reef, and camped out overnight in New York City for a chance to be an extra in a movie. These days, I’m a stay-at-home mom to my five-year-old son, and the majority of my adventures take place in the books I write. I currently live in warm and sunny North Carolina with my husband, our son, and a variety of rescue pets.
